Halloween is behind us, and I am kicking it into Christmas gear earlier than normal this year because I am SO excited to get started on sharing some amazing local & Canadian businesses as we shift into Christmas Shopping. We know that shopping local is always a good idea, but this past year has really shone a light on the importance of supporting small and local! These are people that live in our towns and are involved in our communities, and they put their heart and soul into their business and creations. The purpose behind this series is to highlight some of the creators and business owners that I am a huge fan of, in hopes that it may give you some inspiration for the ones on your Christmas list this year! Let's get started! The first business up is Praire Rose Knots based out of Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Anna's creations of beautiful macrame are seriously works of art. She is a total sweetheart, too! You can tell she puts so much effort and love into each piece she makes for her customers. She specializes in custom, made-to-order pieces which I love because it means every single piece has it's own uniqueness. The pieces range from wall art to plant hangers, to even wedding backdrops. These make the perfect gift for the hard to buy for person on your list because art is always a good option, especially a piece that is handmade just for them! I am in love with the minimalist and boho vibe of macrame, and I feel that my eye is always drawn to pieces like this in a room. If you are local to Rosetown, Brick and Mortar stocks her macrame pieces in store, but if not she can ship to you as well! Due to the custom nature of her pieces, orders are best placed a few weeks in advance (which is why I'm telling you about it now! The earlier, the better!). Take a look at a few of the many gorgeous pieces below:
